Who we are
We are Innovations for Learning, a non-profit that’s working in under-served communities in the United States and in the developing world to teach children to read and write — the skills essential for building a lifetime of learning, for having a chance of success in the modern world.
We work with school districts to give teachers powerful new tools: TeacherMate®, our computer-based self-learning program, and TutorMate®, our bullpen of volunteers, recruited from corporate America, who give face to face supplementary instruction to children over the Internet. Through our system, students can work at their own pace and teachers can precisely monitor their progress, adjusting lessons to fit each student’s needs.
We’re working with nearly 50,000 students in the U.S. We have pilot programs in Rwanda, Ghana and Uganda.
We’re revolutionizing reading instruction. Research shows it. Click here for the findings.
